DRUG, WEAPON ARRESTS MADE BY NARCOTICS OFFICERS
(12/13/2006) NEW HAVEN – Members of the New Haven Police Department’s Narcotics Enforcement Unit arrested three individuals on Monday, 11 December, on drug and gun charges.
In the area of 380 Ferry Street, Ezel Buchanan, 26, of 440 Dixwell Avenue, was charged with possession of narcotics, possession of narcotics with intent to sell, possession of narcotics within 1500 feet of a school and possession of narcotics with intent to sell within 1500 feet of a school. Police seized $30, a cell phone and 21 bags of crack cocaine.
Ronald Bethea, 28, of 390 Poplar Street, and Michael Flaggler, 31, of 43 Sheffield Avenue, were arrested in the area of 390 Poplar Street and charged with possession of narcotics, possession of narcotics with intent to sell, possession of narcotics within 1500 feet of a school, possession of narcotics with intent to sell within 1500 feet of a school, criminal possession of a firearm, and carrying a pistol without a permit. Police seized 12 bags of crack cocaine and a .38-caliber Colt handgun.
On Tuesday, 12 December, officers observed a fight and arrested Jesus Rivera, Jr., 20, of 422 Blatchley Avenue, in the area of 343 Grand Avenue. Rivera was charged with robbery in the second degree, assault in the second degree, criminal attempt to commit larceny in the second degree and interfering with police.
